About Dr. Kecia Chapman
Dr. Chapman fully understands the power of education and has made it her goal to give back in any way that she can to young minds. She has been a Teacher, Administrator, and currently serves at the Central Officer level as the Executive Director of Assessment, Accountability, and Research for Birmingham City Schools. Dr. Chapman received her Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Montevallo. Her Master’s Degree, Education Specialist Degree, and her Administrative Certification were awarded from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She received her Doctorate of Philosophy from both the University of Alabama and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Chapman has had the distinct honor of presenting her work and presiding at various conferences such as: American Education Research Association (AERA) Conference, Mid-South Education Research Association Conference, and HSHS Mixed Methods Research Conference in Cambridge, United Kingdom. She has also served as the lead committee member as several students have received their Doctoral Degrees.
Most recently, Dr. Chapman celebrated as she became Dr. Chapman Esquire after completing her Juris Doctorate and passing the Alabama State Bar.
Dr. Chapman considers it an honor and a privilege to be a true example of a lifelong learner while preparing students to lead and succeed in all life endeavors.
