Starting Your Day with Abre

Abre is a true one-stop shop for K12, so it makes sense to start your day with Abre.

Our customers like to set their Abre Instance as their homepage. This means when students and staff turn on their devices (typically Chromebooks), they’re automatically in Abre.

The Benefits

There are many benefits to having Abre as the “launched” homepage when turning on a device.

Control the Narrative

The benefit to starting your day with Abre is that school leaders can control their narrative and the eyeballs. Everyone is viewing the same announcements and headlines. A superintendent, principal, or even a teacher can write announcements immediately read by users.

Short Cuts

Abre shortcuts are links to external websites. They live in two places:

  1. The Shortcut Panel is available from ANY page within Abre.
  2. The Shortcut Widget – Available from the Abre Home Screen and customizable by users to display their top 6 most used shortcuts

Shortcuts are easily tailored to your stakeholder needs. This means schools control what different stakeholders see. Parents and an elementary school might use one set of Shortcuts, while high school students might use a different set of Shortcuts—no more sifting through a list of tools that are not relevant.

The Student360

Need to find everything about a student? The student360 is immediately available to staff, families, and students!

Abre Apps

All the many Abre Apps are available for use.

An Analogy

Folks sometimes use a “Phone” analogy when describing Abre. Abre has widgets, news, and Apps (just as you would find in an iPhone or an Android Phone). Schools like to set Abre as their homepage to get the full benefit of a one-stop shop.
